STRONG DEMAND FOR ELY COMMERCIAL PROPERTY
Ely continues to have a strong attraction from firms moving into the area or expanding their operations locally, according to commercial property specialists Robinson Layer. Two recent lettings on Cambridgeshire Business Park demonstrate this demand.
Raw Group has expanded into 1,500 sq ft of new offices at 6 St Thomas Place. Leading contaminated land recovery specialists, the group has a total of 16 offices across the British Isles and Ireland. This was let on behalf of East Cambridgeshire District Council.
The global multi-disciplinary healthcare communications agency, Pharma Mix moved from Westwick to take the 3,000 sq ft office element of the striking XL House, a state of the art purpose-built modern and clean engineering works. XL House was formerly occupied by Last Engineering Ltd, now part of the Shearline Group which occupies the remainder of the building.
Mark Robinson, a partner in Robinson Layer, said: “There’s no doubt that Ely offers an attractive alternative to Cambridge, with lower rents and business rates, plus good local facilities, including fast rail services to London. Currently, in Prospect House on the business park, we have four brand new small office suites ranging from 615 sq ft to 2,735 sq ft to let on new leases on competitive terms. Open plan office accommodation with modern amenities throughout and comfort cool/heating by heat pump inverter, they are available as individual units or in combination. Our joint agent is Cheffins.”
