NEXT STAGE IN ROYSTON PROPERTY SUCCESS STORY
One of Royston’s defining commercial property successes has been the recent relocation of Royston Labels into the totally refurbished 17-20 Greenfield on the Orchard Road estate, which totals over 60,000 sq ft on a two acre site, and the disposal of a range of property previously occupied by the company which has raised more than £1.25 million.
The latest stage in this story is the marketing of one of those properties to rent. Mark Robinson of Robinson Layer, who has acted for Royston Labels throughout their five year relocation programme, said: “These transactions have shown how attractive Royston is to a wide range of businesses. It has benefited particularly from the Cambridge Effect – the lack of suitable commercial property at affordable rents – and the availability to purchase freeholds from Royston Labels’ portfolio.
“The investor purchaser of a modern unit at 24 Jarman Way has now appointed us to find a tenant for a 2,175 sq ft mid-terrace warehouse/industrial unit at a rent of £19,000 per annum exclusive.”
The purchaser is Proctor Investments Ltd. Director Chris Burrell said: “Royston is superbly located, being 10 miles from Cambridge and 8 miles from the A1(M) by car and 38 minutes to London by rail. It therefore offers occupiers and the business community a sound platform to expand their operations. The new 30 acre Royston Gateway, which is under construction, is testament to the commercial appeal of the area.
“Proctor Investments is a property investment company looking to expand their commercial portfolio in the Cambridge area. Whilst the purchase of Unit 6 Jarman Way is the first acquisition, the intention over the coming months is to increase its presence and acquire further high quality commercial assets in the Cambridge region.”
