New blood, same ethos at Robinson Layer…

Commercial property specialists Robinson Layer have gone through a significant transition recently. Jonathan Lager retired in March and Peter Layer ended his consultancy to the business at the end of 2023.

Steve Harvey became a partner of the business in April this year having joined as a consultant at the start of 2023.  Steve leads Robinson Layer’s transactional services.  Steve first worked with Mark Robinson 18 years ago as a graduate fresh from university following which he gained experience with Cambridge based Carter Jonas and Cheffins.

Nick Brammar joined Robinson Layer in May this year as a principal consultant to lead the firm’s valuation and lease consultancy services.  Nick brings with him 20 years of experience in the Cambridge property market having been a Director at Lambert Smith Hampton and Partner at Carter Jonas.

Mark Robinson, who’s business Robinson Property Consultants merged with Layer Associates in 2011 to form Robinson Layer, now focuses on the firm’s growing number of property management client’s.

Mark commented:

“We have come a long way since Peter started Layer Associates in 1990.  It has been a very happy partnership and I find it difficult to comprehend how fast the past 13 years have flown by!  Fortunately, we will still be able to draw upon Peter’s and Jonathan’s advice, as they remain non-practicing consultants and they are delighted that the firm is continuing with a new positive phase forward.  We are excited about our renewal with a younger team, which should ensure that we can continue to give the individual high-quality service that we pride ourselves on, and build upon this base in the years to come.”
